What is the difference between sunscreen and self-tanning lotion?

A sun protection product helps to protect the skin against the harmful effects of UVB and UVA rays, namely sunburn and premature skin ageing.

At Laboratoires de Biarritz, our sun protection formulas contain mineral filters (the only sun filters permitted in organic certification) that protect the skin from UVA and UVB radiation.

In a self-tanning product, there are no UVB/UVA sun filters, but active ingredients that act on the cells of the skin’s stratum corneum to create a tan without sun exposure.
