How do you take care of a newborn’s umbilical cord?

The baby has just been born, and the umbilical cord that connected it to the mother's placenta for almost 9 months has been cut, enabling it to begin life on its own. The first steps

The umbilical cord will come off in two phases. During the first phase, it is cut and held by a little clip.
