Frequently Asked Questions

Why does children's skin needs special care?

Children's skin has a structure and functions very similar to that of adults, but some functions are immature. The pH value of their skin is higher and its protective function less important. The surface/weight ratio is almost three times higher than in adults: the risk of toxicity is therefore higher because the penetration is three times greater.

Some functional anatomical characteristics are different: skin hyper plasticity with rich dermal vascular network, less thick horny layer, less functional melanocytes in the first year.

The cream intended for the skin of the child therefore requires a specific formulation because if it is different in its structure, it will also be so in its function. Indeed, this skin is more vulnerable and less well fulfills its natural protective function.
